Graduated in Perth, Western Australia and moved to England in 1988, where he has worked ever since on a range of commercial, residential, retail and leisure projects. Prior to joining Landmark in 2000, worked with Aukett Associates on large scale commercial and leisure projects and then worked as a project architect on the Globe Theatre complex with Pentagram Design Ltd and the Globe Theatre Exhibition with Parameta Architects. After joining Landmark, became a director in 2005 and managed architectural teams on large residential projects, as well as being involved in a wide range of retail and small to medium size residential projects, including work to existing heritage properties, house extensions, new build and rooftop developments. In addition to his role in running of projects, is involved in managing administration procedures and office systems. A keen tennis player, has also been involved as the Facilities Manager on a voluntary basis for the last 8 years at his local tennis club where he is a member.

Richard is a qualified architect with over 35 years’ experience. He trained with the Geoffrey Alsop Practice in Derbyshire during his year out and qualified as an architect in 1986. During this time, he was also a runner-up in several architectural awards, including ‘New Life for Old Buildings’ in 1986. He joined Amos Broome Associates in 1985 following completion of his Diploma and quickly progressed from the position of Architectural Assistant to Associate Director in 1990. Since forming Landmark in 1991, he has been involved in many of its varied architectural projects and he has also played a significant part in developing the Company. His work has included master-planning redevelopment of the Colindale hospital site; retail projects for Capital Shopping Centres plc; refurbishing and re-ordering Liberty Department Store in Regent Street; leisure projects for DeVere Hotels, Holmes Place and Horley Town Football Club and numerous residential projects ranging in size from one-off private homes to 700 units. In addition, his residential work has included several high-end residential apartments in Central London and houses in south-west London and Somerset. Since 2015 Richard has been the Managing Director of Laurenna Homes Ltd who have been involved in developing residential projects which have included the conversion of the former Avonmouth Post Office, Bristol into 9 residential units and currently a 16 unit extension and conversion of former NHS Trust building in Sandal, Wakefield. For the past 30 years, Richard has been an active member of the Buildings Group and former PCC member at St Mary the Virgin, Twickenham, a grade II* listed church.
